Modular Shelving Units

Our shelving systems are available in any custom length, depth, and configuration to fit a variety of applications, including living rooms, kitchens, home offices, retail stores, bars, and workspace environments. Solid wood shelf lengths range from 12 inches to 96 inches, and the shelves can be mounted side by side to create expansive lengths to fill any space. Standard shelf depths are available in 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch and 14-inch options, but can be custom-made to any size. Depending on the shelf length selected, we recommend using the appropriate number of steel brackets to maximize support and stability. 

We recommend spacing the heavy-duty wall-mounted shelf brackets every 16”-32” for optimal strength and long-term stability.  Shelves measuring 12"–42" long require 2 brackets, 43"–66" require 3 brackets, 67"–90" require 4 brackets, and shelves over 91" require 5 brackets.

Our brackets are engineered for long-term performance and, when properly installed, can support up to 50 pounds per linear foot of shelving. Customers can choose between multiple shelf spacing options to create a custom storage setup that fits their needs. Every shelving unit is handcrafted to combine timeless design, premium materials, and reliable everyday functionality.

These heavy duty shelf brackets mount to the wall several locations, hidden behind each shelf. (For example, a 3 shelf bracket will mount to the wall in 3 locations) An extremely sturdy design that is easy to install.

The number of brackets you use for your project will depend on the overall length of the shelves and the amount of weight you'd like them to bear (more brackets = higher weight capacity) For heavy duty shelving, such as a fully loaded bookshelf, we recommend placing brackets 24" apart or less.

*How the brackets are mounted to the wall directly impacts the load capacity. Different wall constructions require different kinds of mounting anchors. For this reason, we DO NOT include wall mounting anchors. We provide a detailed outline of our recommended wall anchors for the different constructions within the installation manual.
The shelves attach to the brackets in 2 locations on each shelf rung. We DO provide 3/4" wood screws to attach the wood shelves to the brackets.

A light colored, smooth-grained hardwood that grows throughout North America. It's durability, lightweight and shock-resistant characteristics have made it a favorite for baseball bats, tool handles, and furniture. However, the Emerald Ash Borer has destroyed millions of ash trees in North America. To prevent waste, we work with Pacific North West companies to ethically source ash wood.

Once used as the floor and ceiling joists in early 20th century demolition homes, this wood is full of unique character. To achieve the "surface planed" finish, we skim off the top and bottom layer with a surface planer. This creates a flat, even surface with lighter color variation than the "natural" finish.
NATURAL

RECLAIMED PINE

Salvaged from early 20th century demolition homes, this wood is full of cool characteristics: nail holes, saw marks, plaster lines, and color variations. With the "natural" reclaimed pine, we simply sand and finish the wood. This produces a darker overall color and texture with a slightly uneven surface.

We struggled for years to find the perfect shelves that would fit in an awkward space in our dining room - tall, narrow, and no right angles. We wanted to take advantage of the full ceiling height to display our large cookbook collection. The furniture store bookshelf options were all too wide or not tall enough, and many of them used particle board which would not be sturdy enough to hold heavy cookbooks. Beautiful bookshelves and very sturdy. Did have my wall braced to accommodate the weight. Depending on the size of the unit you choose and what you are inteding to use these shelves for, you may need to do the same. But the seller sent along detailed installation instructions that eliminated any guessing. I would have liked an option for less height between the shelves, since I am using them for books, But it's just a suggestion.

The store owners are also super nice people that communicated everything throughout the buying and shipping process, plus they included step-by-step installation instructions that were very easy to follow. Awesome people, amazing shelves -- would totally recommend and will definitely be buying from them in the future.

I love love love these shelves. They look amazing and are very sturdy.

There are some choices when you hang them. I got the 96 inch with five brackets. The wall I chose has studs at 16 inches so we couldn’t mount everything to a stud. I ended up putting four brackets into studs on the outer ends and the centering the fifth on drywall. I think the variation in distance between brackets actually looks better.

The owners were flexible with some scheduling issues I had and were great to work with.

I highly recommend.

Appreciative for the custom shelves! They’re perfect for our pantry.
A few points for future buyers/owner:
-much like with most Etsy items, order to fabrication to delivery felt like an eternity.
-the wood is refurbished from Chicago (?) so expect unforgiving knots, strange holes, and random notches in the wood. If you guys moved, I would consider future purchases of non-refurbished wood.
-Honest truth, I hated installation. I would hire someone in the future. Instructions are vague and about as clear as mud. A laser level is required and super helpful. We quadruple checked every hole before drilling.
-you are on your own for finding just the right size anchors, screws, etc. understandable, but super annoying especially for this price point. I would have paid extra for additional recommended screws for my type of wall surface.

We love these shelves! We waited a bit for them but they communicated the estimated shipping time to us so we knew about the delay. So worth the wait! The wood is beautiful and the brackets are very heavy and sturdy.

We have this very tall, very wide wall in our living room and wanted a way to celebrate that beautiful height. We were going for a sort of mid century vibe and this shelf could not have been more perfect for our space. I really believe the sweet folks at Vault furniture put all their love into creating this incredibly beautiful, yet simply lovely piece for us. The picture doesn’t do justice to the beauty of the walnut wood grain (that you can only appreciate in person). Shopping for furniture at big box stores is a thing of the past. No it wasn’t quick, and that’s not a bad thing. It means they really invested the time needed, and it did arrive when promised. They even wrote us a hand written thank you letter (yes, LETTER, not note), wow to that customer service! It was worth every single penny and I wouldn’t change a thing.
